Seeking a Coconut Free Shampoo, Conditioner, Soap and showergel

Today I am looking for help.

image

I’m wondering if anybody can suggest a shampoo, conditioner and shower gel that would be suitable for my two year old daughter who has developed a serious allergy to coconut and coconut derived ingredients.

Unfortunately as you can see from the list below this excludes a lot of traditional ingredients in ‘cleaning’ products such as the Laureth Sulfates.

Her allergy has escalated from being triggered by eating coconut ingredients to the point that now she starts exhibiting symptoms if an ingredient touches her skin, even diluted in a bath!

A mild gingery curry…
…but a really, really, REALLY yummy one.
Good amount of plumped up veg

I absolutely LOVED these noodles.
I’ve paid good money in restaurants for a lot worse.

Easiest Gluten-free & Dairy-free Muffin Recipe

I like the roughness of muffins, they have no need for niceties, no delicate rosewater frosting, no sprinkles, no fork required. Just eat it.
You know where you are with a muffin.

This recipe makes 12 small muffins.

B Free Multigrain Wraps – Dairy Free Reviews

Today I am reviewing:

image

BFree Multigrain Gluten Free Wraps .
Having returned to a gluten free diet due to horrendous digestive problems I thought I would try these as an alternative to gluten free bread.

What is it?
Gluten free multigrain tortilla style wraps.
Instructions suggest warming for 10ish secs in microwave.

Ingredients:
Water, Potato Starch, Corn Starch, Sorghum Flour (Whole Grain), Tapioca Starch, Brown Rice (Whole Grain), Corn Flour (Whole Grain), White Rice Flour, Buckwheat Flour, Sourdough (Fermented Quinoa, Corn and Rice Flour), Amaranth Flour (Whole Grain), Quinoa Flour (Whole Grain), Millet Flour (Whole Grain), Teff Flour (Whole Grain), Pea Protein, Xanthan Gum, Cellulose, Psyllium, Guar Gum, Yeast, Salt, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sugar, Ascorbic Acid, Monglyceride, Citric Acid, Sorbic Acid, Tartaric Acid.

Free From:
Dairy
Gluten
Wheat
Eggs
Nuts
Meat
Gelatine
Honey
Coconut

Thus Suitable For:
Coeliacs
Vegans
Vegetarians
Allergy / intolerance sufferers

Looks like:

image

A thin, pale tortilla wrap
Bubbles and craters…
…yup, the moon.

Smells like:
Quite bready

image

Tastes like:
Pleasant enough.
Slightly leathery texture
No overpowering taste to ruin the filling.

Price:
£2.30 for 6 in Asda

Conclusion:
These wraps feel and taste very different to any ‘glutened’ wrap I have ever tasted. This is not a bad thing as such, but a realistic observation.
Also worth noting is the fact when heated I found these wraps more likely to crack and fall apart. This was the opposite to what I had expected and was rather messy…
However I did enjoy these wraps and would definitely recommend them. Just do not expect them to be identical to a ‘glutened’ product.

3.5/5 – nice.

Tesco Free From Rich and Decadent Chocolate Pots – Dairy Free Reviews

Today I am reviewing:

image

Tesco Free From Rich and Decadent Chocolate Pot.
I love chocolate; rich, creamy, dreamy, scrummy chocolate. It makes me happy. I do not like the damage dairy does to my body. After a hard week of pudding tasting and our daughter having a fever (thankfully getting better now) my husband and I needed a choccy-pick-me-up. Did these chocolate pots make us happy without the nasty dairy effect. No Moo, No Sick, you know the drill.

What is it?
Two plastic pots of chilled dark chocolate dessert.

Ingredients:

image

Free From:
Dairy
Wheat
Gluten
Meat
Honey
Coconut

Thus Suitable For:
Vegetarians
Coeliacs
Allergy / intolerance sufferers
Chocoholics

image

Looks like:
Chocolate is dark but not completely black
I think the two little tubs are rather cute

Smells like:
Chocolate!

Tastes like:
Rich, dark chocolate.
Smooth and stretchy, gloopy textured.
It’s delicious.

Price:
£2.50 for two tubs.

image

Conclusion:
We loved these.
It occurred to us we as we were tub scraping that we were probably supposed to dip delicate strawberries into the delicious chocolate rather than attack it with a spoon and a chocolate-lust. I’m sure the choccy fondue method is lovely, but, we have no regrets.

4.5/5 – Delicious, just a little too pricey for regular indulgence.
