Coyo yogurt

Co Yo Dairy-free Yogurt.
Saw this about a month ago and was shocked at how expensive it was £3.49 for big tub, £1.99 for small. Curiosity got the better of me and I thought I’d test out this pricey pud.

What is it?
Thick yogurt made from coconut
One whole coconut in every tub
Free from lots of stuff
Vanilla or plain this review is for vanilla

Today I am reviewing

image

Achva halva

Vanilla Flavored Sesame Halva.
Having never tried halva before, nor really knowing what it was I’m not 100% sure why I picked up this little tub in the world food section of Tesco, but upon discovering it met my dietary requirements I bought it.

What is it?
A sweet desserty confectionary
Made from sesame paste (tahini?)
Wikipedia says this type of Halva is popular in Poland and the Middle East.

Today I reviewing

image

Eat Real Quinoa Chips Sour Cream & Chives.
I initially overlooked these believing they couldn’t possibly be dairy-free because of their flavour, then I spotted the word vegan. After reading and re-reading at least three times I popped these in my trolley.

Viotros Violife Slices

Today I am reviewing

Violife Slices.
Finding these alongside the Violife Creamy and Violife Slab Cheeses were a highlight of my weekend shop. But did it meet my expectations?

What is it?
Vegan/Dairy-free cheese SLICES
Yup slices
Ready to stick in a sandwich

Feel Free Vegetarian Eastern Party Pack (epic fail all round)

Today I am reviewing

image

Feel Free Vegetarian Party Pack.
This was a bit of a disaster from the moment I opened the package before reading that you are supposed to:

Defrost overnight in the fridge.
Coat in whisked egg before cooking…

Well we don’t even keep eggs in the house except the very occasional offering from our elderly, ex-battery rescue hen Mrs Chicken…so that wasn’t going to happen. We did the responsible thing and stuck them in oven regardless.

Tesco Thai Spiced Crackers

Tonight I am reviewing

image

Tesco Thai Spiced Crackers.

Found these lurking in the Asian Cooking Sauce bit of my local Tesco next to the prawn crackers. Surprisingly I see nothing that will either harm me or compromise my vegetarian beliefs.

What is it?
Fried tapioca crackers
Like prawn crackers without the prawn
Flavoured with leek, chilli, ginger, cabbage, mustard etc.
